UHD provides personalized support to women through all stages of pregnancy, from pre-conception through pregnancy, labor, delivery and immediately after childbirth. Our Obstetrics staff includes family medicine doctors with an obstetrics specialty. They can provide care for you and your newborn, in addition to lifelong preventive care for your entire family. They work to ensure that each pregnancy culminates in the delivery of a healthy baby, without impairing the health of the mother.
Throughout your pregnancy, you’ll find all the services that you will need are on-site, including prenatal checkups, lab services, ultrasound and non-stress testing. You can also explore breastfeeding options with our certified lactation consultants.
When it’s time to deliver, our renovated birthing suites include modern amenities, such as a desk station, refrigerator and sleeper sofa for supporting family members. Your delivery experience is capped off with a special Celebration Dinner for two, selected from a custom menu and served with sparkling cider and dessert.
Whether you are confirming your pregnancy or looking for ongoing primary care, our obstetric practitioners are here to develop and nurture a relationship with you for generations to come.

UHD has the only 4D Ultrasound in southern Minnesota
UHD has the GE Fetal Monitoring system, which is the monitoring system of choice. Physicians can view the monitor strip of their patients from their office or home. We also have the latest products for infant warming, monitoring and stabilizing.
UHD has highly trained and competent staff that manages the care until the transfer to a perinatal center is completed. With the emphasis on early recognition and intervention we are committed to providing or arranging timely and appropriate care.
The closest neo-natal unit is in Rochester, (Mayo) but all the centers are within similar distance. When an infant needs a transfer, the neo-natal team comes here to prepare and attend the transport.
We have the capacity to do VBAC’s but because of the mandated need for high-risk neo-natal support they are done safely only in large birthing centers, which we are not.
We will give tours at your convenience. Just call 507-526-7966 and arrange a time.
